Attic insulation has always been a very challenging product to set a price on. At times it seems as though the only angle our competitors have to offer, is cheap. But cheap has a lot of competition, and after a while, it can erode a companies integrity in the never ending quest to out cheap the next guy.

In your efforts to price out your attic, ask yourself this question. When you receive a very low quote, do you believe the contractor will be cheap to himself with his profit margin....or will he be cheap to you in the amount of insulation you have received in your attic? If the price quoted has the appearance that all your paying for is materials, with no room for labour or profit, then the only way to make a penny....is to ultimately rip you off in the amount of insulation installed!

This is often effective because most home owners never peer into their attic, and if they do, many don't know what they are looking for anyway. This makes it a pretty safe bet to play the odds and rip people off.

At 1-888-Y-ATTICS, we would rather give an honest price and do an honest job.

Top Ups

An attic top up is a great way to improve your home for winter and summer!!!!

Adding more insulation to your attic for the winter is very beneficial. It’s a pretty straight forward science. The more insulation you have separating the interior of your home from the elements, the less heat loss you will experience. We also know that hot air rises. There for, the heat in your home gravitates towards the Ceiling, and eventually escapes. That’s where an attic top up aids in the heat loss. Most older homes have between 3 and 6 inches of insulation in the attic. With a top up, we bring you up anywhere from 15 inches to 2 feet at your request. With that kind of barrier in place, if a molecule of heat manages to escape through the attic, it deserves a medal.

As for a top up in the summer, the effect is often deemed even more beneficial. Consider this, all summer long many people suffer endlessly due to over heating in their home. They go to bed at night and leave the windows open and fans blowing on them and are forced to sleep on top of their blankets. Even at 3 in the morning the house is still roasting hot. It doesn't make any sense either because it is cool outside and has been for hours. WHY??? The fact is this problem is due to inadequate insulation coupled with inadequate ventilation in the attic. Take a moment to ponder your roof. Most are covered in black shingles that act like a huge solar panel drinking in the hot sun all day long. This heat is transferred into the attic space of the home. The heat that builds up in the attic is incredible, and please don't take our word, pop up into your attic on a summer day and feel it for yourself. Even after the sun goes down, that heat remains in the attic and it takes hours to dissipate, in fact, most of the night. Now if your attic only has 3 to 6 inches of insulation separating the living space of the home from the attic, that heat creeps into your home all day and night.

The remedy for this situation is surprisingly easy. Call 1-888-Y-ATTICS for a simple and inexpensive attic top.

Q: I have batting in my attic, do we have to remove it first?
A: Nope, we will blow right over it, it's still good insulation!
Q: Will this be disrupting to my life and create a big mess?
A: It will only take a few hours to do and any mess made will be cleaned.
Q: How do you get the insulation into my attic without making a big mess?
A: A machine that stays outside is fed loose fill blow in insulation. This insulation then travels through a hose and is sprayed into the attic.

An attic top up is a relatively inexpensive renovation that actually gives a never ending return on your investment due to lower heating bills. It's cost is equivalent to the cheapest carpet money can buy, but at this price unlike the carpet, our product will last for the life of the home and comes fully supplied, installed, and delivered with no surprise extra add-ons to the price.
